During the last 9 months, the experts of the Office for Foreigners have already conducted 58 missions in Greece and Italy. They support the migrant institutions in conducting procedures for foreigners. 40 employees were posted abroad, of which 15 traveled twice and 1 quadrupled.

The work of the experts of the Office for Foreigners is coordinated by the EU EASO (European Asylum Support Office). They were entrusted with subjects such as: social work with unaccompanied minors, pre-registration of migrants, conducting of Dublin proceedings, information on the principles of the relocation programme and the implementation of tasks resulting from the EU-Turkey agreement.

„The Office for Foreigners is in constant contact with EASO and the Greek and Italian authorities, actively supporting them in the current difficult migration situation. The work of Polish experts abroad is very highly evaluated by our partners” said Rafal Rogala, Head of the Office for Foreigners.

There are currently 5 experts working in Greece. Support missions in Greece are directed to the islands nearest to the Turkish coast: Lesbos, Samos, Leros, Kos and Chios as well as to Athens and Thessaloniki. The Italian side needs the help of Polish officials in Sicily (in Trapani and Catania), in Rome, Taranto and Milan.
