Policy on protection of children from harm in facilities for foreigners

Office for Foreigners has implemented a comprehensive system of protection of children from harm in centers for foreigners who applied for international protection. The aim of the project is to provide appropriate prevention and the highest level of safety for youth living in facilities.

Policy on protection of children from harm in facilities for foreigners introduces child safety standards as well as education for staff, parents and children in the field of violence prevention. Within the framework of the project, there were trainings provided for the staff of centers for foreigners. Moreover, Office for Foreigners developed standards and policy for the protection of children from harm.

According to the policy, Office for Foreigners for example: provides its staff with education in the field of child protection and support, offers parents education in non-violent education and provides children with education on children’s rights and protection against the threat of violence. The program also defines rules for the protection of children’s personal data and image, recruitment and employment policies and procedures for interventions in case of child harm.

Policy on protection of children from harm in facilities for foreigners was implemented in cooperation with the Empowering Children Foundation, within the framework of The Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund.
