FAQ
I am not currently a resident of Poland. Can I cease my Swiss residency and instead become a resident of Poland in 2020, and remain a resident of Poland after 31.12.2020? Or will my right to become a Polish resident only last until 31.12.2020?
Do parents of a child under 6 years of age have to personally appear in person in order to legalise the child’s stay?
I’m currently a British national living in the UK. My wife is a polish national along with our children. We are looking at moving to Poland next year, due to our current circumstances would I be eligible to claim for permanent residency as my wife and children are all Polish?
I am a citizen of the United Kingdom. I have been living in Poland (permanent residence) since 1978. My current document confirming the right of permanent residence (valid until 2027), contains a “Citizenship” section which states: Great Britain. Do I have to replace that card? The same also applies to my adult children.
I would like to ask, what specific documents shall the United Kingdom residents who live and work in Poland apply for. Currently, these residents have only registered their stay in a Voivodeship Office – registration of an EU citizen’s stay – therefore they do not hold any additional work permits or residence permits. What type of document should they apply for and when is the best time to do so? Are the templates of such documents available for download?
I would like to ask for information on the following issue: in the case of a citizen of the United Kingdom who arrived in Poland and registered his/her stay before 31 January of 2020, if the reason for the citizen’s arrival is employment – in order to legalise his/her stay in the Republic of Poland should he/she submit an application for temporary residence (and work) in the transitory period of the United Kingdom’s exit from the EU, i.e. after 31 January 2020, or should the application be submitted after the transition period, i.e. after the United Kingdom formally leaves the EU (expected date 31/12/2020).
